How Do I Become Catholic?

Do you feel God calling you to something more? Are you curious about the Catholic faith or considering becoming a member of the Church? We are here to walk with you.

The Catholic Church welcomes adults through a process called the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA). This journey of prayer, study, and community leads to full membership in the Church, culminating in the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.

If you are already a baptized Christian, you will follow a similar path of formation and preparation, leading to full communion with the Catholic Church. This process honors the faith you have already professed while deepening your relationship with Christ and His Church.

Our Parish Catechetical Leader, Wm. Christopher Hoag, is happy to answer your questions and guide you through the process. You can reach him at choag@hspal.org or (440) 933-3777 ext. 203.

“At every time and in every place, God draws close to man… He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church.”
